Description

This is another of the Planscape characters--another Tiefling at that. This was the first, and is probably my favorite of the series. She just seems so... sad and reluctant. Kind of heartbreaking to look at her. Well, enough melodrama... Pencil original painted using Photoshop.

overall, this is pretty good. my only concern is that the face doesnt seem to *fit together. it looks like the chin to the nose is one face, and the nose to the forehead is a different face. if you dont know what the hell i am talking about, im probably crazy ;) but try printing it out and looking at it in the mirror, it might pop out at you.

Thanks for the feedback! I know your trying to be helpful, but this 'portrait' is meant to portray an awkward half-breed. I kept her face askew intentionally. Sounds weak to say it, I suppose, but I *wanted* her to look weird.

Seeing the idealized faces and bodies portrayed on this site and others, I often wonder if less-than-perfect, or asymmetrical, or out-of-proportion subjects would (could?) be seen as 'beautiful,' or even appealing. I know the girl in the portrait above is out-of-whack, but I can't help but like the character she represents.

No offense is meant by my inquiry--it's just idle curiosity.

The colour scheme is very rich - did you work off a pencil drawing? Some of the textures seem to suggest that. I think she seems like a very intriguing character, and perhaps she deserved a better title than 'Pink Girl'. :)

And it's nice to see a female on this site portrayed in a more personal and less than idealised (or 'breast-centric') manner.

You characters are very individual and that is great (I saw your gallery at your website, very nice indeed) :)
Beautiful colors and the skintexture is delicious.

W.hat an awesome amount of colors and shades, and the speckles, and pigmentation of he rskin. The colors do arouse a sort of perplexed, and sorrowed look.

O. out of the ordinary use of characters too, I have never heard of that, but this is something special.

W.onder what your pencil work looked like?
